Ariana Collado, executive director of the Bronx Democratic Party, said the endorsements did not merely check off a box. They came after the candidates were vetted following an interview with the party. “I think women candidates are seeing themselves being reflected in the leadership of the borough in a way that hasn’t been seen before, not just with AOC but with the new wave of female leaders running and winning races across the city,” Collado said.
