Independent Judicial Screening Committee
The Independent Judicial Screening Committee of Bronx Democratic County Committee (IJSC) is currently accepting applications for all elected judicial positions that will occur in the 2019 election cycle in and for the County of the Bronx, City and State of New York.
All prospective candidates for Judge of the Civil Court of the City of New York and Justice of the Supreme Court of the State of New York must complete and timely submit a 2019 questionnaire. Questionnaires must be completed and submitted no later than February 1, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. to the Law Office of Ululy Rafael Martinez located at 3602B East Tremont Avenue, Bronx, New York 10465.
Applications can be dropped off Monday – Friday between the hours of 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The judicial screening panel will be conducting interviews on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Law Office of Jose Antonio Rodriguez, located at 644 Soundview Avenue, Bronx, NY 10473.
If a candidate was found “Qualified” by the IJSC in 2016 or later, this designation will last for 3 years, thereby eliminating the need for another interview for the same position. Therefore, interviews will only be necessary for those candidates who are submitting a judicial questionnaire (i) for the first time for a particular office (i.e. Supreme); (ii) for the first time since 2016; or (iii) who were not found qualified by the IJSC since 2016.
